A family-owned burger restaurant offering an island-inspired take on the classic American burger, Seven Brothers has various locations in Hawai’i and beyond.
Begun as a single hole in the wall restaurant in the small town of Kahuku on O’ahu’s northeastern coast, Seven Brothers now boasts four locations on the island (the other three at La’ie, Shark’s Cove and Hale’iwa) and a growing footprint on the US mainland. With a homely atmosphere, proud Christian ethos and laid back charm in keeping with Hawai’i’s surf culture, the family-oriented Seven Brothers is true to its motto of ‘More than a Meal’, serving up good vibes and abundant Aloha, as well as fantastic food.
Founded in 2009 by Art and Peggy Hannemann and their seven sons, Seth, Seek, Shez, Shem, Max, Spencer and Sterling, Seven Brothers’ menu has continued to evolve with the business, but still centers on a list of speciality burgers named for each of the siblings.
From Seth’s take on the classic cheeseburger to Shez’s high stacked Paniolo (two crispy onion rings, pineapple slice, American cheese, barbecue sauce); Sterling’s Teriyaki (fresh pineapple mixed with smoky bacon, tangy teriyaki sauce) to the Max Burger (mushrooms, crispy bacon, Swiss cheese), Seven Brothers’ burgers are all crafted with passion from quality, local ingredients and served with a generous portion of lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and the house secret sauce! Amongst our favorites, the Shem Burger (freshly made guacamole, smoky bacon), Seek’s Deep Blue (Swiss cheese, blue cheese, crispy bacon, ranch sauce) and the Spencer Burger (onion ring, spicy jalapeños, Swiss cheese, signature Spencer sauce) stand out for their rich flavor combinations, but really, there’s nothing here we wouldn’t recommend. And even if burgers aren’t your thing, the menu includes a delicious veggie sandwich to sink your teeth into named Keep the Country, Country, and a Coconut Macadamia Nut Shrimp Salad that’s simply peerless!
A choice of fries, seafood plates (exclusive to Kahuku and Hale’iwa) and the unparalleled Mum’s Banana Bread (a Hawaiian island classic, here topped with toasted coconut and chocolate sauce) are other highlights of a small but select food menu that offers something for everyone. And each location’s casual ambiance, surf style décor and friendly staff are the perfect complement to the food itself.
Undoubtedly one of O’ahu’s best-loved burger restaurants, Seven Brothers continues to expand, spreading its unique blend of hand-crafted burgers and Hawaiian hospitality through franchises in Utah and Arizona.
